New ACOTAR Book: A Court of Splintered Harmony Is Out. Everything Confirmed So Far

Cover Image - New ACOTAR Book

The new ACOTAR book is A Court of Splintered Harmony: The Valkyrie Cycle, Movement I. Bloomsbury published it on Tuesday 27 October 2026, and it's the first new A Court of Thorns and Roses novel since A Court of Silver Flames came out on 16 February 2021.

It isn't the end, either. Book 7, A Court of Forgotten Melody, is due on 12 January 2027, according to Sarah J. Maas's official website.

Table of Contents

New ACOTAR book: the confirmed facts

  • Title: A Court of Splintered Harmony: The Valkyrie Cycle, Movement I (Bloomsbury).
  • Length: 352 pages.
  • Setup (no spoilers): Koschei the Deathless, bound to a mountain lake for thousands of years, is waking up. Prythian is still recovering from the Hybern War, and recent betrayals have split the Night Court's Inner Circle. The tagline is "What was broken will be remade."
  • Narrators: According to reviewers, about half the book is told by Azriel. Cassian, Nesta and Feyre share most of the rest, and Lucien, Gwyn and Mor get one chapter each.
  • Bonus chapter: An Azriel point-of-view chapter from A Court of Silver Flames. It began as a Books-A-Million exclusive. NBC News reports it's now in all copies, but some retailers still call it an exclusive, so check the listing before you buy.
  • Print run: 4 million copies to start, compared with 500,000 for Silver Flames.

Is it the last ACOTAR book?

No. Book 6 is the first of four "movements" in the Valkyrie Cycle, and Maas has said it's "not a trilogy". Here's the schedule:

BookStatus
Book 6: A Court of Splintered Harmony (Movement I)Out 27 October 2026
Book 7: A Court of Forgotten Melody (Movements II & III)Due 12 January 2027, pre-orders open
Book 8: final movementNo title or date yet

The official buy and pre-order page links to retailers for both books.

ACOTAR reading order and what to reread first

The series order:

  1. A Court of Thorns and Roses
  2. A Court of Mist and Fury
  3. A Court of Wings and Ruin
  4. A Court of Frost and Starlight
  5. A Court of Silver Flames
  6. A Court of Splintered Harmony

If you only have a couple of days for a reread, NBC and TODAY suggest the war chapters of Wings and Ruin, then Frost and Starlight, then chapters 1–27 of House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City 3), which take place in Prythian. Yes, the crossover series.

Bloomsbury’s official reading guide also suggests an order across all three of her series.

Price in India, plus Kindle and Kindle Unlimited

These are retailer listings for the new ACOTAR book I checked on 27–28 October 2026.

It isn’t in the Kindle Unlimited (KU)/ Kindle+ catalogue in India currently. However, that’s normal. New releases from big publishers like Bloomsbury usually aren't in KU at the launch.

If you aren’t sure what your subscription covers, my guide to Kindle Unlimited and Kindle+ explains it. If you'd rather not buy the ebook from Amazon, see Kindle alternatives in India.

What about the ACOTAR TV show?

Hulu officially dropped the adaptation in February 2025. On 5 March 2026, Maas said she has regained the screen rights to her books. Reports say she's offering the project to other studios, but no new deal has been announced on her official news page.

What to read while you wait for book 7

  • Maas's Crescent City series. You need it for the crossover anyway.
  • Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. Dragons and high stakes, with plenty of banter.
  • From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout. A long series to fill the gap until January.

You'll find more picks on my 2026 book recommendations list. If you track your reads, add book 6 on Goodreads or one of these Goodreads alternatives.

Have you started it yet? Are you on Team Azriel-narrator or missing Feyre? Tell me (spoiler-free, please!) and check back on Book Blabber for updates on book 7. Happy reading!
